At Little Explorers we use a responsive, child-led, and family-centred approach, building strong, collaborative relationships with children and the important people around them.
Therapy sessions are personalised to each child’s strengths, needs, and interests, with a focus on:
- Play-based therapy that keeps children engaged and motivated
- Incorporating a child’s interests to make learning fun and meaningful
- Supporting families to work on therapy goals within everyday routines
- Helping children participate and feel connected within their family and wider community
- Coaching communication partners, family members, and educators to promote successful communication development.
We work closely with children and their families to reach their goals across a variety of areas, including:
- Complex communication needs
- Developmental delays and disabilities
- Speech sound differences and language delays
- Selective eating, mealtime worry, and paediatric feeding disorder
- Neurodiversity-affirming speech pathology that celebrates individuality and unique ways of communicating
- Supporting children and their families to advocate for supports and modifications to ensure their needs are met and respected.
Little Explorers is passionate about supporting early language development and utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to ensure that every child has a way to connect with others.
